Beautiful Brands International opens tri-branded restaurant

Beautiful Brands International opened its first tri-branded store today. Located in Durant, Okla., it features Rex's Chicken, FreshBerry Frozen Yogurt and Smallcakes Cupcakery.

"It's not often you can generate this kind of brand excitement in a community," said David Rutkauskas, BBI's founder, president and CEO. "I believe this will turn out to be one of our biggest success stories."

Features of the store include a shared counter and menu board with an Apple iPad POS from Revel Systems, catering services and a drive-thru. Menu choices include Rex's bite-size chicken and jalapeño chicken and sides, Smallcakes' made-from-scratch cupcakes, and pay-by-the-ounce, self-serve FreshBerry frozen yogurt with more than 20 toppings and six different flavors available. Hours for the store are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.

The new tri-branded unit is operated by licensed franchisee J.H. Carlton.

Beautiful Brands re-established the Rex's Chicken brand in 2008 with the goal of introducing it to new regional and global markets.

Smallcakes has five locations and an additional five co-branded locations with FreshBerry.

The new Durant location is one of two tri-branded stores set to open this summer for BBI. The other will be in Raleigh, N.C., with dozens of additional tri-branded stores planned in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Colorado, Arkansas and North Carolina.
