Beach Pit BBQ marks Calif., U.S. expansion

COSTA MESA, Calif. — Beach Pit BBQ has announced expansion plans that will bring new restaurants to the state of California and to new cities across the United States. The Southern BBQ chain plans to expand with new corporate stores in Southern California and with franchised outlets in new markets.
Beach Pit BBQ has two locations open in Costa Mesa and Tustin, a third restaurant under construction in Old Town Orange, and five non-traditional outlets at Angels Stadium. The Beach Pit BBQ menu features Southern BBQ fare combined with lighter options such as wraps, salads and pizzas. Beach Pit BBQ has partnered with Alexandria, Va.-based franchise development company, Fransmart, for its expansion effort.
Tim DeCinces, founder and CEO of Beach Pit BBQ, spent seven years playing professional baseball for the Baltimore Orioles, San Diego Padres, Oakland As and Cleveland Indians. He started Beach Pit in 2005 and started franchsiing the concept this year.
