Beautiful Brands International has signed an agreement with Khalid Al-Sudairy to franchise and open at least 40 Dixie Cream Donut Company stores in Saudi Arabia. The deal marks the first Dixie Cream openings in Saudi Arabia.
“This is really a great moment for our Dixie Cream brand and company as a whole," said David Rutkauskas, founder, president and CEO of Beautiful Brands International. “We’re seeing more and more opportunities for BBI to grow and develop in places like Saudi Arabia because of our strong consumer appeal worldwide. We’re thrilled to be able to join with Khalid in bringing the incredible taste of Dixie Cream Donuts to the Middle East.”
The recently signed agreement between Khalid Al-Sudairy and BBI will utilize BBI’s organizational and support system to expand the Dixie Cream brand throughout Saudi Arabia. The deal includes freestanding Dixie Cream stores along with stores designed for malls and shopping centers. The first store is slated to open in September of this year.
Founded in 1929, the Dixie Cream Donut Co. was bought by Daylight Donut Flour Company in 2005, which then joined with Beautiful Brands in 2009 to franchise and market the brand worldwide.
“Our strategy to develop globally is really starting to hit its stride,” Rutkauskas said. “Our brands offer tremendous global appeal and a model that translates well with overseas franchisees. Dixie Cream stands for the highest quality, and I know we will distinguish ourselves regionally with the best donuts available today.”
Dixie Cream Donut Co. is one of 11 concepts marketed and developed by Beautiful Brands International (BBI).
