Barberitos has launched its month-long, system-wide breast cancer awareness campaign, Barberitos Gives Breast Cancer the Boot, by participating in a number of activities that raise donations and support for breast cancer awareness. Barberitos is selling breast cancer themed T-shirts featuring the slogan "We Give Hope with Our Food." All proceeds from T-shirt sales benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
All of the Barberitos locations are featuring pink chips throughout the month of October. In addition, donations are being accepted at the cash register. Many locations are participating in percentage nights, in which a percentage of the night's sales are donated to breast cancer awareness. All of the funds raised throughout the month will be donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.
"We couldn't be happier to help support such a great cause," said Downing Barber, founder and CEO of Barberitos, "It's our philosophy to be involved and give back to the community in any way we can."
Barberitos offers fresh, Tex-Mex cuisine including a variety of burritos, tacos, salads, quesadillas and nachos made to order.
Getting social
The chain has also rolled out a social media contest where fans register to win a $500 Barberitos gift certificate along with other prizes that include an iPod Shuffle and a Nike gift certificate, among others.
These prizes go along with the Barberitos "Get Fit & Get Healthy" campaign that was inspired by Jay Lowe, a devoted Barberitos customer who lost 70 pounds with the help of Barberitos' farm fresh burritos and other healthy options.
Barberitos has 29 restaurant franchise locations in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee and Florida.
