Barberitos franchisee opening Newk's locations in Georgia

Newk's Eatery is partnering with restaurateur David Weeks to enhance its presence in Northeast Georgia, bringing its state count to 17 restaurants over the next two years. Two upcoming openings are planned for the Athens area, growing Newk's national footprint to over 120 restaurants, according to a company press release.
 
Weeks began his franchising portfolio in 2003, with Barberitos based in Athens, where he operates 12 multi-brand locations in and around the area. In November of 2017, Weeks signed with Newk's and made plans to continue his growth in Athens with one area location this year and another in 2020.
