Chef JJ Johnson, a James Beard Award-winning author and TV host, has launched his newest restaurant, Bankside, at Wonder food hall locations in New York City and New Jersey. The restaurant serves traditional Southern seafood recipes with hints of West Africa and the Caribbean, including Shrimp Po Boys, Bahamian Clam Chowder, Crispy Rice and Coconut Salad.
"After a successful launch in Wonder Downtown Brooklyn, I'm thrilled to share that Bankside's menu is now available across Wonder locations in New York and New Jersey," Johnson told FastCasual. "Bankside brings the oasis of the Atlantic Shore to New Yorkers and New Jerseyians' doorsteps. We hit you with a lot of richness, a little bit of spice, and everything nice!"
Wonder is an 11-unit digital food hall that will grow to 35 locations by 2025. It features fare from a variety of chefs, including Bobby Flay, Jose Andres, Nancy Silverton and Marcus Samuelsson. Everything is made-to-order at a Wonder storefront and delivered in under 30 minutes. Pick-up and limited dine-in options are also available.
