Baja Fresh adds Chef Lopez to product development team

Baja Fresh Mexican Grill has named Chef Roberto "Pepe" Lopez as its new director of Product Development.

According to a news release, Lopez has more than 32 years' experience in the restaurant industry, starting his career as executive chef in restaurants such as Cano's, Las Brisas and El Torito Grill. Most recently, Lopez held the position of executive chef and SVP of Product Research and Development with Real Mex Restaurants.

In his position as director of Product Development, Lopez will assist Baja Fresh in the areas of product innovation, creating new tastes and flavor profiles for promotional offers, as well as menu strategy, development and optimization.

"Chef Pepe is an extremely talented culinarian, and we feel fortunate that he is joining the team at Baja Fresh as we work to refine the menu and overall brand experience," CEO Chuck Rink said in the release.
