Back Yard Burgers is stepping up growth efforts after posting its 18th straight month of same-store sales increases.

Back Yard Burgers reported an 11.2-percent increase in year over year same-store sales in Q3 2014. The burger chain has posted same-store sales increases for the past 18 months.
Since Jan. 1, 2014, Back Yard Burgers' system-wide sales have experienced increases of 5.8 percent, with company-owned stores posting a 10-percent increase and franchised locations experiencing a 4-percent increase.
"The results show us that the hard work by our team, franchisees and employees is paying off," said Chief Executive Officer Dave McDougall in a company press release. "We have worked hard the past 18 months reinvigorating the brand, being focused on our customers and serving delicious burgers, fries and shakes."
Back Yard Burgers also signed an agreement with Cakewalk design firm to develop Back Yard Burgers' new look and feel. Cakewalk will deliver the re-design plans in the spring of 2015.
"It is a very exciting time for Back Yard Burgers. The company has built a tremendous amount of momentum, and it is important for us to plan for the future," said Chief Operating Officer and Chief Marketing Officer Monte Jump.
Back Yard has also partnered with SMB Franchise Advisors. Back Yard Burgers is seeking franchisees in Chattanooga and Knoxville, Tennessee; Charlotte; Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Raleigh-Durham and High Point, North Carolina; Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska; and Orlando, Florida.
