Au Bon Pain to open at Jacobi Medical Center

BOSTON — Au Bon Pain has been awarded a contract with Jacobi Medical Center to develop and operate a cafe at the hospital's Bronx, N.Y., campus.

The announcement comes as Au Bon Pain and its franchisees expand the company's presence to more than 30 locations in the hospital trade channel. Locations includethe Cleveland Clinic, University of Chicago Hospitals, Northwestern Memorial Hospital (Chicago), Children's Hospital Boston, Brigham and Women's Hospital (Boston), Rhode Island Hospital, and Jackson Memorial Hospital (Miami).

"We are very proud of this new opportunity with Jacobi Medical Center, and our continued expansion in the hospital trade channel," said Au Bon Pain president/CEO Sue Morelli. "We believe that our work with our Nutrition Advisory Board and our consumer-friendly nutrition kiosk make us an attractive food service partner for hospitals."

Working with a Nutrition Advisory Board, Au Bon Pain has developed a program to keep customers informed about their food choices. In-store Nutrition Kiosks offer customers in-depth ingredient and dietary information about each Au Bon Pain menu item and provide a customized list of Au Bon Pain menu choices.
