Au Bon Pain continued to expand its presence in the Chicago market with the opening of a café at the anticipated Block 37 retail development at State and Randolph Streets.
The opening of the new store brings the number of Au Bon Pain restaurants in Chicago to 19, with a mix of locations that represents the company's key trade channels.
"We are committed to continued growth in Chicago and Block 37 was the perfect place for expansion," said Au Bon Pain president and CEO Sue Morelli. "With its great location, impressive list of retail tenants and contemporary design, we know that Block 37 will be an outstanding home for our café for years to come."
The Block 37 café features Au Bon Pain's signature "marketplace" format, with self-serve bakery, soup and coffee stations, counter service for ordering sandwiches and espresso-based drinks, and a grab-and-go refrigerated case stocked with pre-made sandwiches and salads.
