Au Bon Pain opens 1st location since sale to Ampex Brands

Au Bon Pain has opened its first location since being acquired last year byAmpex Brands, a franchisee of YUM Brands and 7-Eleven stores.

The store, which is within the Macy's Queens Center, at 9001 Queens Boulevard in Elmhurst, New York, allows mall employees and customers to refuel with the chain's menu favorites like the Chipotle Turkey with Avocado Sandwich, Chicken Caesar Wrap, breakfast sandwiches, soups, pastries and specialty coffee drinks, according to Au Bon Pain Regional Vice President Prabhat Mishra in a press release.

"Au Bon Pain has a dedicated commitment to our customers and their satisfaction," Mishra said in the release. "We know this new location within Macy's Queens Center will offer the unparalleled experience our customer expects."

Ampex Brands plans to expand beyond its Au Bon Pain's 14 locations in Manhattan and the outer boroughs and hopes to open additional retail/restaurant hybrid locations.

"We are proud to open another Au Bon Pain with Macy's," Au Bon Pain President Ericka Garza said in the release. "We are incredibly grateful for Macy's continued collaboration and look forward to serving Queens Center customers together."

Au Bon Pain has over 170 locations.
