Au Bon Pain names franchisee of the year

BOSTON — Au Bon Pain recently awarded its top franchisees for their contributions to the company. The awards and recipients include:
Franchisee of the Year —Rick Johnson and his team at Virginia Tech have accomplished an impressive rate of growth. In two years, Johnson's team increased sales from $2 million to $2.4 million and have added a second service point on campus. Of franchise brands on campus, Au Bon Pain is No. 1 in sales volume.
10th Anniversary Tribute — In the past 10 years, Nash Flores, Rob Goldblatt and FGR Foods have grown from one location in the Dallas-Fort Worth airport to 10 locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth: eight in DFW airport and two locations in Dallas hotel complexes.
Brand Builder of the Year — In the course of their nine-year partnership with Au Bon Pain, Bread Partners has grown the ABP Florida market to 14 stores, including a flagship store at the University of Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital. Their original store in the Miami Merchandise Market averages $25,000 in weekly sales.
