Au Bon Pain creates new concept for suburban customers
August 8, 2006
BOSTON — Au Bon Pain will open a new suburban prototype in Woburn, Mass., Aug. 10.
The company seeks to serve an active customer base with diverse dining needs throughout the day: high-quality breakfast and lunch meals; family dinners; and an all-day café gathering place.
Named The Bistro by Au Bon Pain, the 5,000 square-foot Woburn restaurant will feature a broader menu, beyond-the-ordinary hospitality and a warmer, more comfortable interior design. Company president Sue Morelli said the newly designed store should encourage people to have a long lunch.
"We want to be a favorite local restaurant," Morelli. "Consumers know us as a quick bite-on-the-run location. This newly designed, warm and inviting environment should encourage people to have a long lunch, check their e-mail using our free Wi-Fi while they enjoy an espresso drink, or bring the family in for a sit-down dinner."
