Ain't no party like a plant-based party

Provided

July 20, 2020

Veggie Grill, said U.S. customers can help those in need and the planet this week by eating a vegan meal. Veggie Grill, the largest plant-based chain in the country, is uniting with a massive coalition of other vegan restaurants to throw the "Plant-Based Party For the Planet," an initiative to feed those in need, according to a company press release.

How it works

From July 24 to 26, vegans and non-vegans are invited to purchase a 100% plant-based meal for takeout or delivery from a local plant-based chain or their favorite restaurant or cook one at home and post a photo of it to social media (Instagram & Twitter) with #PlantBasedParty.

For every mention, ChowNow, the online ordering food platform, and Gardein, a Conagra brand that makes meat-free food, will give up to $25,000 to support two charities:

  • Maggie Baird's (singer Billie Ellish's mother) Support + Feed organization, which provides plant-based meals to vulnerable communities.
  • REVERB, which helps clean oceans.

In May, the Plant-Based Party for the Planet initiative raised $30,000 and provided 100,000 meals.
