Espresso House, which has 500 cafes in the Nordic countries, needed a training system that was accessible, fun and close to its operations, which is why it recently partnered with Attensi, a Norwegian company specializing in gamified simulation training.

The coffee chain, which employs over 7,000 people in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Germany, had been relying on a traditional learning management system that failed to engage younger staff members, according to Jonas Krantz, L&D Integrations manager at Espresso House. He found Attensi's gamified simulation training was the perfect solution as it provided a platform that was easy to use, specific to job roles and available in multiple languages.

"We see a bright future together with Attensi," Krantz said in a company press release. "We're looking forward to developing other things than just training with them."

The benefits of the partnership include.

  • Over 90% of Espresso House colleagues reported the training platform has helped them perform more effectively.
  • The repetition of gamified learning in certain elements of the platform helps employees acquire knowledge and skills in an engaging way, especially for younger staff.
  • The hectic and busy atmosphere of Espresso House has become much more easily managed. With each new campaign, there's a new skill scheme for people to learn, which is now easily implemented and adapted to meet the learning needs of staff.

Attensi has delivered gamified simulation training in over 150 countries and in over 50 languages. Customers include Microsoft, Equinor, Circle K, Bosch Siemens Home Appliances, NHS, Accenture, Wagamama's, Hiscox and Scatec Solar and many more.
