Two fast casual brands built around chicken have announced openings this week.
Chicken Salad Chick will expand in Louisiana with its first location in the New Orleans market opening next week in Mandeville, and The Chickey will open in Palo Alto, California.
Franchisees Jake Alleman, Cody Gielen and John Gielen of Cojak Restaurant Group will operate the Chicken Salad Chick unit located at 3803 Highway 22, which marks the third Chicken Salad Chick restaurant in Louisiana, according to a company press release.
The Cojak Restaurant Group owns and operates 10 restaurant locations with Another Broken Egg Cafe.
"As a Louisiana resident myself and a veteran of the food service industry, we're eager to bring Chicken Salad Chick's southern style, exceptional customer service and fresh, homemade recipes into the New Orleans market," Alleman said in the release. "We're thrilled to be beginning this partnership and look forward to delivering an exceptional dining experience to Mandeville and local residents in the area for many years to come."
The Chickery, based in Washington, D.C., has signed a franchising deal to open at 3850 El Camino Real Palo Alto, California, according to a company press release.
"We're very excited to be bringing The Chickery to The San Francisco Bay Area," said Dan Rowe, CEO of Fransmart, the company helping the concept franchise "This is a great opportunity to serve more people better chicken."
