California Tortilla voted best burrito
June 23, 2009
ROCKVILLE, Md. — California Tortilla was voted "Best Burrito" by readers in the July 2009 issue of Washingtonian Magazine. The hotly contested category featured national players such as Chipotle and Moe's Southwest Grill, each placing second and third, respectively.
"Winning this award is confirmation that our commitment to serving only the highest quality food resonates with customers," said company president Bob Phillips. "Not only are we one of the only ones using all white meat chicken breast and fresh sirloin steak as the mainstay of our burritos, we also make all of our critical menu items, such as salsa, guacamole, queso cheese and white corn chips, several times throughout the day to ensure every customer gets the freshest product possible."
Last year, Washingtonian readers also voted California Tortilla "Best Vegetarian Food" and "Best Dining for Kids."
