New York's Mamoun's Falafel expanding to California

Mamoun's Falafel has signed a multi-unit deal to expand into Northern California. The deal is for eight units, with real estate options being explored in Alameda County as well as the Milpitas and San Jose markets, according to a company press release.

"We fell in love with the authentic taste of the falafels, baklava, and especially the hot sauce (which holds a permanent spot in our fridge) coupled with the unique experience of waiting in an enormous line with our friends," Franchisee Gautam Patel said in the release. "We love Mamoun's, and we're excited to bring the concept to Northern California."

Using authentic family recipes, Mamoun Chater opened Mamoun’s Falafel in 1971, in New York City’s Greenwich Village. The chain has partnered with Fransmart to help it establish franchise locations in major U.S. media markets.
