Johnny Rockets pushing franchise expansion

Aligning with Johnny Rockets' aggressive domestic expansion strategy, the restaurant's franchise development team has announced its nationwide list of markets it believes is ideally suited for the all-American brand, said James Walker, president of franchise development and operations.

With Johnny Rockets' flexible footprint, including three formats — Johnny Rockets, Johnny Rockets Express and Johnny Rockets Route 66 — franchise owners now have the opportunity to find their best fit, particularly in the following U.S. cities: Tucson,Arizona; Houston, Texas; Bridgewater, New Jersey; Gainesville, Florida and Bakersfield and Fresno, California

"Johnny Rockets consistently thrives in markets with high-traffic retail centers, particularly malls and outlet shopping centers, due to its entertaining atmosphere and broad appeal," Walker said. "The markets we have identified for growth are primed for flourishing restaurant brands, due in large part to real estate availability as well as guest demand for a Johnny Rockets near them. With several prototype options, Johnny Rockets offers many more development opportunities than previously."

Johnny Rockets offers a business model for both franchisees and developers seeking a restaurant with global brand awareness and an existing fan base, Walker said. With more than 330 restaurants worldwide, it plans to open more than 25 restaurants this year in the U.S. and more than 100 by 2017
