'Starbucks Evenings' takes flight at Washington airport

Dec. 19, 2012

Starbucks has officially launched its newest concept, Starbucks Evenings, in partnership with HMSHost, a global restaurateur that helped Starbucks launch its first airport location more than 20 years ago.

The café is now open in the Washington (D.C.) Dulles International Airport and serves hand-selected wine, a bottle of beer or a cup of premium coffee or tea. The concept also features a sophisticated new menu with savory bites, shareable small plates and irresistible desserts, said Chris Browne, vice president and Dulles Airport Manager.

"The addition of Starbucks Evenings is particularly exciting and fitting for international travelers looking to relax before or after a lengthy flight," Browne added.

"Developing the concept has been a great way to extend the Starbucks Experience into the evening," said Doug Satzman, vice president of Branded Solutions, Starbucks Coffee Company.

The new menu is available at noon each day and includes:

  • Rosemary and Brown Sugar Cashews.
  • Crudités and Smoky Chipotle Hummus Dip.
  • Bacon-Wrapped Dates with Balsamic Glaze.
  • Truffle Mac and Cheese.
  • Artichoke and Goat Cheese Flatbread.
  • Chocolate Fondue.
