Panda Restaurant Group deploys Ascend Software solutions

Panda Restaurant Group Inc. has selected and deployed several of Ascend Software's solutions for business process improvement, as well as to automate its accounts payable invoice processing.

Ascend Software's SmartTouch A/P Imaging and WorkFlow solution streamlines Panda Restaurant Group's accounts payable processing through automation and imaging to reduce manual processing, while increasing accuracy and controls.

Ascend's SmartTouch A/P captures images and electronic documents, provides business processes automation, and is a robust enterprise document management solution. Ascend has an AP imaging and workflow solution that integrates transactions with Lawson's ERP software in real-time, resulting in fewer processing steps and lower costs, according to the company.

"With close to 650 new locations opening in just the last four years, we were quick to recognize that we had outgrown the legacy content management solutions supporting our business operations. Processes had become too labor intensive and often lacked visibility and integration with our Lawson ERP system," said Bryan Lim, executive director, Development Panda Restaurant Group. "After a thorough evaluation of enterprise content management and business process automation solutions we chose Ascend Software Inc."

Ascend was selected in part because of its experience working with Lawson and ability to provide PRG with a migration path.

"Our initial project will focus on automating Accounts Payable and reporting from multiple data sources. However, the Ascend Software platform provides us with robust content management and process automation capable of meeting our future as we continue to grow with a single enterprise-wide solution," Lim added.
