Panda Express' 1,500th store opens with new look

Sept. 26, 2012

Panda Express has reached a major milestone, announcing the opening of its 1,500th location. Located at 585 N. Germantown Road in Cordova, Tenn, the first Panda Express restaurant in the Memphis area is also the site for one of Panda's new store design prototypes.

"Our 1,500th unit is an entirely new design in a brand new market for Panda Express," said David Landsberg, chief development officer, Panda Restaurant Group.

The new restaurant design will give a fresh and modern look to the exterior and interior of Panda Express locations and will incorporate the brand's heritage while maintaining Panda's welcoming atmosphere, Landsberg said.

Thai Cashew Chicken Breast is back

Inspired by Thai flavors and made with all-white meat chicken breast, the Thai Cashew Chicken Breast is back at Panda Express for a limited time only. The 220-calorie Wok Smart dish will be available starting Sept. 26 with an opportunity for Facebook fans to enjoy a free single serving of the dish on Oct. 3.

"This dish takes our guests on a dining adventure with the distinctive flavors of Thailand," said Andy Kao, Executive Chef at Panda Express. "Thai Cashew Chicken is one of our most popular limited time items because it tastes great and is also a healthy option."

Guests can enjoy a free single serving of Thai Cashew Chicken Breast by downloading a coupon from the Panda Express website or the company's Facebook page. The coupon will be available Sept. 26 and is redeemable only on Oct. 3. Thai Cashew Chicken Breast will be available through Nov. 27 in all Panda Express restaurants nationwide and also on the company's catering menu.
