Nearly 20 years after Johnny Rockets first introduced Mexico City to the brand, two locations opened recently in Huixquilucan and Nuevo Leon, bringing the chain's total in Mexico to 18.
On Jan. 31, Centro Comercial Paseo Interlomas welcomed Johnny Rockets to its upscale shopping and dining area in Huixquilucan. In mid-December, the Plaza Las Villas in Monterey, Nuevo Leon, added Johnny Rockets to its roster of nearly 100 retail outlets and restaurants.
"As the 11th most populated country in the world with more than 114 million residents, Mexico continues to offer us a tremendous opportunity to introduce our unique combination of flavorful fare, friendly service and upbeat entertainment to a vast consumer audience," said Steve Devine, president of Johnny Rockets International. "We're fortunate to have several skilled franchise operators who consistently provide our guests with an out-of-this-world, feel-good, Americana experience, and who will continue to grow our presence in Mexico."
The new 2,283-square-foot Paseo Interlomas restaurant (Vialidad de la Barranca No. 6 in Huixquilucan) is located on the third level, and seats 71 guests inside and 24 on the outside patio. It employs 25 residents. The 2,680-square-foot Plaza Las Villas restaurant (Ave. Eugenio Garza Sada #615 in Monterey) seats 109 guests and is located on the third floor of the shopping mall.
