JJ's Red Hots plans first opening

June 19, 2012

JJ’s Red Hots will bring its handcrafted, chargrilled hot dogs and sausages to Charlotte, N.C.

"This concept is inspired by beloved hot dog joints like Ted’s in Buffalo, N.Y., where I grew up eating chargrilled hot dogs, onion rings and shakes. Ted’s and other timeless restaurants like them are rooted in classic American values," said founder Jonathan Luther. "At JJ’s we will strive every day to live up to these old-school values. What sets us apart is the overall experience that we will bring to Dilworth and Charlotte."

JJ’s features smokehouse hot dogs from Sahlen’s Packing Company in Buffalo, N.Y., chargrilled over an open flame. JJ’s also will serve beer and wine.

JJ’s newly renovated space includes a take-out window and one of the largest roof decks in Charlotte. The grand opening is planned for early July.
