The Fast Casual Executive Summit has recently added two more executives overseeing innovative fast casual brands to the event's agenda. Keith Richards, CEO of Taziki's Café, and Patrick Renna, COO/CFO of Boloco, will share their experiences about integrating technology on separate panels at the Oct. 21-23 event in San Diego.
During a panel called Restaurant Management Systems, Richards will discuss how implementing a back-end system to control specific business needs, including daily POS totals, weekly flash reports and period financials, has improved service standards and led to profit increases throughout his locations in the Southeast region of the country. The panel, at 8 a.m. on Oct. 21, also includes Matt Bodnar, CEO of Fresh Hospitality and Dave Gilbert, former National Restaurant Association COO, who is now the president of the Hospitality Group at Heartland Payment Systems.
During the 10:30 a.m. Digital Displays panel on the following day, Renna will take attendees through his company's decision on implementing digital signage in five of its 20 restaurants. He will give tips and best practices to help attendees learn from his successes and pitfalls. Christopher Hall, editor of DigitalSignageToday.com, will also share his expertise on the panel.
"It's always best to learn from those who have gone before you, both to avoid their missteps or to take their best lessons and apply to your own deployment," Hall said. "Attendees should be able to take away some key tips on how digital menu boards can affect diner behaviors, as well as keep them in compliance with federal regulations and save them money in the long run."
The Summit will also include presentations from CEOs and execs of several other leading chains, including Firehouse Subs, Sbarro, McAlister's, Chop't, Fazoli's, California Tortilla and Salsaritas.
