CHARLOTTE, N.C. — South Carolina's District 16 Sen. Mick Mulvaney plans to open a Salsarita's Fresh Cantina location in South Charlotte's Blakeney area this May. This will be the first of six restaurants Mulvaney plans to open throughout Charlotte and South Carolina's York and Lancaster counties over the next four years.
Mulvaney's involvement with Salsarita's dates back to its inception when founders Bruce Willette and Thang Nguyen needed a lawyer to get the concept off the ground. Since that time, Mulvaney has immersed himself in the brand — serving on the board of advisors, becoming a shareholder and even serving as general manager for the chain's Ballantyne restaurant.
Mulvaney plans to handle day-to-day operations at all of his restaurants while his wife, Pamela, will run the catering program at each location.
