SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Hospitality Solutions International (HSI), a division of Micros Systems Inc., has announced it will showcase its revolutionary handheld POS, Profit Series Mobile, with Apple's iPod touch at the National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show at Chicago's McCormick Place May 16-19.
Profit Series Mobile POS, used exclusively with Apple's iPod touch, enables it to be used for a variety of tasks including tableside ordering and manager functions such voids and discounts.
Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity on the iPod touch also enables access to HSI's hosted applications such as MyHSI.net Enterprise Reporting Tools.
The iPod touch is able to display Profit Series' full-size POS screens and uses the exact same screens as its traditional POS terminals, eliminating the need for additional training. Additionally, through the use of the Accelerometer, each screen may be viewed in portrait or landscape and immediately adjusts to the proper aspect ratio.
