Boston-based Dorado Tacos & Cemitas is celebrating its official grand opening with its first Customer Appreciation Event on Thursday, Dec. 10 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern time. Customers are invited to mingle, talk to the chef and enjoy a free Ensenada-style fish taco during the event.
While the fast casual concept is only a singular unit, its special menu items could signify a new trend in Fresh-Mex eateries: Dorado is the only restaurant to serve the cemita, a Mexican sandwich, to the streets of the Boston area.
Douglas Organ and Michael Brau, owners of the restaurant, said they are thrilled to provide Greater Boston with the authentic taste of Baja, California and Mexico. "We are hosting this event as a way to express our gratitude to our customers. And it's a great opportunity for those who haven't had a fish taco yet, to come try one," said Organ. "We'll serve tacos as long as we have tortillas and fish, until we run out."
Dorado offers traditional Baja-style Mexican fish tacos, featuring two soft white corn tortillas, beer-battered white fish, fresh salsa, shredded cabbage, Mexican crema, and of course, a squeeze of fresh lime."
In addition to fish tacos, the restaurant serves shrimp, steak, chorizo, and portabella mushroom tacos. Black beans, Mexican rice, imported Mexican Coca Cola (with cane sugar), tortilla soup, cemitas and salads are also available at the Brookline restaurant.
