Initial public offerings for PinkBerry, LinkedIn and Dunkin Donuts are among the 10 deals predicted by columnists from Dow Jones Investment Banker for 2010.
Columnist Sameer Bhatia suggests that Cold Stone Creamery, Dunkin Donuts and Pinkberry could all possibly debut IPOs in 2010, according to a press release.
"Cold Stone Creamery owner Kahala Corp. is likely to take the company public while there's still growth left in the business. They could also possibly sell it to Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons, which operates 65 co-branded stores with Cold Stone and has the financial capacity to easily acquire it." Bhatia said. "Pinkberry's global expansion makes it an alluring IPO candidate in the near future."
In less than five years, Pinkberry has established a dominant position in frozen dessert yogurt. The company raised $28 million in series A funding through Maveron Capital, the VC firm founded by Starbucks' Howard Schultz. And in May, Pinkberry signed its first global expansion agreement open up to 35 locations in the Middle East.
An IPO also could be beneificial to Pinkberry founders Shelly Hwang and Young Lee, whose pending divorce was announced in June on several celebrity Web sites.
