Smashburger will open its first of six Kentucky locations in April 16 near the University of Kentucky campus in Lexington.
Lexington's Smashburger will offer customized menu items inspired by Bluegrass State flavors. The Bluegrass Smashburger features Wild Turkey bourbon barbecue sauce, applewood smoked bacon, melted cheddar bar cheese, and fried banana pepper rings on an egg bun. Diners also can enjoy the 3 Way Smashdog made with Cincinnati chili, cheddar cheese and onions. Meanwhile, the Bourbon BBQ Ranch Chicken Club features strips of cripsy buttermilk seasoned chicken, chopped applewood smoked bacon, fresh diced tomatoes, Haystack onions, cheddar cheese, crisp romaine and iceberg lettuce, with Wild Turkey bourbon barbecue sauce and buttermilk ranch dressing.
Guests also can quench their thirst with an Ale-8-One soft drink or float made with Häagen-Dazs ice cream and served in a frosted mug, and regional beers from Alltech Lexington Brewing Company.
"We are excited to introduce our delicious menu of great-tasting burgers, wide array of sides, and indulgent shakes to Lexington residents," Smashburger founder Tom Ryan said in a news release. "Once Lexington's burger lovers sink their teeth into our 'better burger,' they are sure to make Smashburger their favorite place for burgers."
