Elevation Burger to open in Kuwait

Northern Virginia-based Elevation Burger will be opening its first Middle Eastern outlet in October in the Avenues Mall in Kuwait.
The Avenues Mall is Kuwait's largest mall and one of the Middle East's premier retail and leisure destinations. The mall opened in April 2007, and is located in Kuwait's Al Rai District. Elevation Burger will join more than 100 restaurants, including other American brands such as PF Chang's, Dean & DeLuca, Starbucks and La Pain Quotidien.
"This is a great step in expanding the Elevation Burger vision internationally and ideally more and more of our locations will be developed in projects like The Avenues," said Hans Hess, founder of Elevation Burger. "We've received interest from entrepreneurs in other Middle Eastern countries, so we anticipate expansion elsewhere in the region in the very near future."
Elevation Burger executives expect to have a total of 15 to 20 restaurants operating by the end of 2010, with more than 60 total new restaurants in development.
