The "naked" refers to the organic nature of the brand's offerings, but it also seems apt for a company so stripped of self-limitation that it starts in New Orleans and expands quickly to Dubai, as in the United Arab Emirates, where the word "naked" required some negotiations before it could be used on billboards. (It has to be spelled "N_K_D Pizza" in the heavily Muslim Middle East/North Africa region.)
Vitrano has even been asked to keynote several major conferences in the area, touching on topics such as social entrepreneurship, marketing and public health policy. Naked Pizza also recently got into the dough business and has signed up several groceries to distribute its healthful product.
