While many people will make New Year's Resolutions, two fast casual concepts — Cowboy Chicken and I Dream of Falafel — are running specials to help kick off the year.
Cowboy Chicken, a Dallas-based wood fire rotisserie chicken brand, will offer a complimentary serving of black-eyed peas to each guest. A staple in the Southern diet for more than 300 years, black-eyed peas have long been associated with good luck. A dish of peas is a New Year's tradition in most areas of the South, said Sean Kennedy, president, Cowboy Chicken
"Cowboy Chicken welcomes our guests for some of our famous black-eyed peas on New Year's Day each year," he said. "Remember, black-eyed peas on New Year's Day brings good luck for the entire year."
I Dream of Falafel is hoping to inspire its guests to eat healthier with its New Year's Resolution Challenge starting Tuesday. Guests may visit their nearest I Dream of Falafel location to receive a punch card with place holders for their next 10 visits. After all 10 punches have been made, the chain will treat guests to a complimentary lunch, dinner or snack on their next visit.
The first 25 people to complete the challenge will receive a complimentary "gift of wellness" from Xport Fitness, including a free seven day pass, one free week of tanning, one complimentary intro spa service, and one hour free with a personal trainer. Guests who have redeemed all 10 punches before Jan. 31 may also enter into a raffle where four winners will receive a catered healthy lunch for their office. One person will win a 6-month gym membership to Xport Fitness.
