Starbucks' customers in the Washington, D.C., market will notice a new message written on their coffee cups for the next couple of days.
According to Reuters, CEO Howard Schultz has urged the company's employees in its 120 D.C.-area units to write "come together" on cups today and Friday. The campaign is the brand's way of encouraging policymakers to reach a deal on the looming fiscal cliff that is expected to raise taxes across the board.
Starbucks is supplementing the cup campaign with social media messages and newspaper ads.

"We're paying attention, we're greatly disappointed in what's going on and we deserve better," Schultz told Reuters in a telephone interview. "If (talks) do not progress, we will make this (messaging campaign) much bigger."
