For the 17th season, Tijuana Flats is kicking off its holiday fundraiser for its Just in Queso Foundation.
All proceeds from the sale of the "Smack My Ass & Call Me Santa!" holiday hot sauce will be donated to this year's charity partner, Kids Beating Cancer. The hot sauce is available for purchase at all of the restaurant chain's 86 locations and online at TijuanaFlats.com.
New this year, also with proceeds benefiting Kids Beating Cancer, is a special dessert called Vixen's Holiday Ginger Chimi. This flour tortilla loaded with gingerbread cookie dough, lightly fried and smothered with homemade icing and holiday sprinkles, will be available at all locations beginning Nov. 26.
"Giving back to the communities we serve is very important to us across the brand," said Brian Wheeler, Tijuana Flats owner and CEO. "Our guests and employees alike are very supportive of our charitable initiatives, and allow us to do a lot of good and raise a lot of money this, and every, holiday season."
Kids Beating Cancer's mission is to increase access to treatment for children with cancer and other life threatening diseases by funding the cost to identify compatible donors, funding uninsured medical expenses and providing support for families as they face the challenging journey toward a cure.
The Just in Queso Foundation generates financial support primarily through the in-store and online sales of the Just in Queso charity hot sauce, as well as the restaurant's special-edition holiday "Smack My Ass and Call Me Santa!" hot sauce. Each year, the Just In Queso Foundation selects a non-profit organization to support with this initiative, to which all proceeds from the hot sauce sales are donated.
