Saladworks is opening its fourth California location in Tustin, Calif., through a franchise agreement with Karen Weber, a 25-year veteran of Trader Joe's grocery chain.
This is the fourth of 15 total Saladworks locations planned for California, of which the first one opened in early 2011.
The openings mark the company's push into the West Coast market as future locations are planned for Seattle, Texas and Arizona.
"When I read about the first set of stores coming to California I thought, 'this is me,'" Weber said. "I was looking into a lot of different concepts at the time, but I couldn't get behind them. I didn't want to get involved with a franchise that didn't provide healthy food to its customers. To me, Saladworks is the perfect fit."
The Tustin location is one of 25 planned overall openings for the Saladworks chain in 2012, said chairman and CEO John Scardapane.
