California Tortilla has unveiled Burrito Elito, a sister concept that will debut in Boston Logan and Philadelphia airports.
“This brand extension will allow us to test new operating initiatives and product offerings before we unroll them chain wide,” said president Bob Phillips.
The Burrito Elito stores will carry the same menu as California Tortilla and will offer a sampling of hot sauces from California Tortilla’s Wall of Flame. Further, California Tortilla’s Burrito Elito loyalty card will be accepted at all Burrito Elito stores.
California Tortilla currently operates locations in the three major Washington, D.C. area airports: Reagan National, Dulles and Baltimoreâ€Washington International.
Veteran franchisee Patricia Reilly and her husband, Dan Koch, who own and operate existing California Tortilla airport locations, will own the announced Burrito Elito locations.
Rockville, Md.-based California Tortilla has more than 35 locations across the Mid-Atlantic.
