I Love Velvet, a hardware and software provider for the point of sale, announced its first product for the hospitality industry in the U.S. The first installation of the customized mobile restaurant software for point-of-sale payment and order placement is at the Nespresso Cafe in the SoHo neighborhood in New York City.
I Love Velvet said the new deployment at Nespresso represents a significant advancement for the company as it now has a mobile payment solution that can be "plug & play" with an existing Micros RES solution.
"We are now partners with Micros, the most widely-used restaurant point of sale software for front and back office operations in the food and beverage industry," said Patrick Bouaziz, co-founder of I Love Velvet.
According to the company's announcement, I Love Velvet's challenge was to create a user-friendly solution that offers security for payment options and fast turnaround time for completion of payments through a fully encrypted process. I Love Velvet said its system also gives the wait staff the tools to be more knowledgeable about the menu and be more engaging with guests.
The hardware and software can be customized and rolled out within two days.
