VendorSafe Technologies, a provider of PCI-DSS compliant network security, has packaged some of its services to create a network environment for new payment technologies, including mobile payments.
The company's VST Titanium Package has been designed to prepare level 1 – level 4 merchants for the evolution of payment activities, while protecting their payment systems from a data breach. In particular, the VST Titanium package simplifies wireless payments and PCI compliance while never losing sight of legacy applications that still need protection in a merchant's environment, said Tracy Libertino, senior vice president at VendorSafe Technologies.
"Over the past year, we have been watching the payment industry evolve to more sophisticated forms of payment," Libertino said. "We have leveraged our advanced knowledge of network security to allow these new exciting payment trends to function without violating PCI-DSS compliance."
At the same time, Libertino said, VendorSafe can still support the current applications that already exist in the merchant's network environment.
"A hybrid network environment will be critical for retailers to support both mobility payment and cloud initiatives," she said. "Security of both wireless networks and devices will be critical to taking advantage of mobile wallet technologies required to communicate with the point of sale."
The VST Titanium Package also includes VendorSafe's TrustVault Certificate, which will support a merchant in the amount of $100,000 should its networks suffer an electronic data breach while using VendorSafe's services. To date, none of VendorSafe's protected clients have been breached, the company said.
