Austin, Texas-based How Do You Roll? has opened its first location outside of the Texas market, where the chain has seven units in operation. The newest unit is in Phoenix.
"We are excited to become a part of the Phoenix community," said Yuen Yung, chief executive officer. "We feel that the community will be very receptive to our concept of creating custom sushi rolls. We are eager to introduce the sushi rebellion to Phoenix."
How Do You Roll? was founded by brothers Yuen and Peter Yung. Yuen, a certified public financial planner with a B.S. in business administration, serves as CEO, while Peter serves as chief operations officer.
How Do You Roll? offers a customizable twist to the traditional Japanese cuisine. Upon entering the restaurant, consumers follow a line and build their own sushi rolls from a wide array of ingredient choices.
The restaurant chain will continue to grow with franchises opening in Tucson, Ariz., Southern California and Florida in February 2012.
