Tropical Smoothie Café is offering its customers an opportunity to support its long-term charity partner, Camp Sunshine. The national franchise company will donate a portion of proceeds from the sale of its Sunrise Sunset smoothie to Camp Sunshine from now through June 26.
On June 17, Tropical Smoothie Café also will celebrate the 5th anniversary of National Flip Flop Day, which launched in 2007 as a celebration to encourage customers to kick off summer. As a simple thank you to loyal customers, the first 500 people wearing flip flops at each café were given a free 24-ounce Jetty Punch smoothie. Following the holiday's inaugural year, Tropical Smoothie announced its national charity partnership with Camp Sunshine, a retreat in Casco, Maine, for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
To date, the company has donated $770,000 to the cause and plans to raise more than $1 million by National Flip Flop Day.
