As major pizza chains battle out the unending $10 pizza wars, smaller systems such as The Loop are quietly flexing their own competitive-price muscle. Last year, The Loop Pizza Grill rolled out a test promotion offering guests four 8-inch pizzas for the price of three. If successful, the Jacksonville, Fla.-based chain will launch the promotion system-wide. The Loop launched the deal specifically because a big part of its demographic includes families of four. Also, four 8-inch pizzas fit in the company’s 16- inch, take-home box.
