Saladworks has announced a development agreement that calls for five franchise locations to open in Maryland within the next two years.
Three Saladworks locations are currently operating in Maryland. The first under the new development agreement will be operated in Charles County by the husband-and-wife team of Lewis and Jewell Powell. The franchising opportunity appealed to them after Jewell had lunch at a Saladworks restaurant with her sister.
"I tried it and fell in love – it was really good, really fresh," she said. "After that, I knew that if we were finally going to open a franchise, it would be a Saladworks."
The next Maryland location, slated for the Annapolis area, is set to open in late summer under the ownership of Derek Morrell and Nicole Roudiez.
Both teams anticipate a multi-unit portfolio after their initial openings.
