Beautiful Brands International has announced plans to open its first multi-branded stores in Durant, Okla., and Raleigh, N.C. The new stores are slated to open in three months and will feature Rex’s Chicken, FreshBerry Frozen Yogurt and Smallcakes Cupcakery.
The new multi-branded stores will feature a shared counter and menu board for guests as well as a small seating area. Both stores have already signed leases to open this summer and will feature drive-thrus.
“These tastes are very compatible to one another and a winning formula when it comes to franchise models,” said John Lenzmeier, Rex's and FreshBerry N.C., master franchisee. “We believe it’s an excellent concept for long term growth and terrific testing ground for expanding globally. There’s no question, guests are going to love the choices of bite size chicken and sides with the added treat of frozen yogurt and made-from-scratch cupcakes.”
Founded in 1951, Rex’s Chicken was well known in Oklahoma for its bite size chicken, fry bread and homestyle sides. Beautiful Brands re-established the Rex's Chicken brand in 2008 with the aim of introducing it to new regional markets and ultimately around the world.
Smallcakes bakes 15 kinds of cupcakes daily, each topped with swirls of icing in traditional and modern flavors. It was founded in Kansas City, Mo., in 2008 by Jeff and Brandy Martin and recently joined BBI as a complement to FreshBerry’s frozen yogurt offering.
