Fatz Cafe raised more than $477,748 in 2010 through its Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser program. The funds will benefit local communities in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia.
Groups big and small, ranging from local schools, churches and non-profits, participated in the Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser program designed to raise awareness for youth sporting events, church mission trips and counseling services for military veterans. One breakfast event was even used to help raise money for a regular guest to undergo a kidney transplant.
Early on Saturday mornings, operating partners and Fatz Cafe employees opened their restaurant hours before their scheduled shift to flip pancakes with volunteers from various local organizations. The company intends to extend the program into 2011.
