The 2011 Food Safety Summit is April 19-21 in Washington, DC. Registration for the event is now open with early bird discounts available.

“The 2011 Food Safety Summit is dedicated to providing the highest quality education and solutions available to food safety professionals,” said Emily Patten, director of Tradeshows and Conferences for BNP Media, producers of The Food Safety Summit. “During the three-day event we will be offering more networking opportunities, extensive education sessions, vendor track theaters, an interactive exhibit hall, a ServSafe training and certification program and much more.” 

A ServSafe Training and Certification program will be offered April 18 and 19 with the Food Safety Summit program kicking off April 19.

Half-day education sessions will cover the following topics:

  • Training For Results;
  • Effective Risk Communication In Order To Secure Food Safety Resources;
  • The Three Pillars Of Successful Food Liability Program: Prevention, Response and Resolution. 

The conference sessions on Wednesday and Thursday will feature important government issues including Food Regulations: What New Mandates Face the Food Industry in 2011 and Beyond and The FDA Food Code: Content, Adoption and Implementation; as well as manufacturing issues including Traceability, Managing Allergens and Food Defense, and pressing issues such as Food Safety Media Training and Working with Public Health Officials. 

New this year, the expo hall will be open April 19 from 5-8 p.m. and April 20 from 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. On April 21, conference sessions will be held from 8:30-11:45 a.m. followed by lunch to go. Event sponsors are ARAMARK, iGPS, DNV and Bronze Sponsor Siemens Industry.
