Firehouse Subs has unveiled its new pickle bucket, showcasing Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. The Foundation raises money throughout the restaurant chain to support fire fighters, police and EMS. All 395 restaurants sell their recycled pickle buckets for $2. Proceeds benefit the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which gives back to public safety entities in communities served by Firehouse Subs.
"After seeing how the sale of pickle buckets saved a life, our suppliers, United Pickle and Century Container, were deeply moved and inspired by the story of Francisco Tuttle," said Robin Peters, executive director of Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
"They worked tirelessly on designs that included our logo and even added their creative flair to create the greatest bucket ever! We're thrilled to introduce the new pickle bucket design, which will help us continue to raise awareness of Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, and save lives."
The victim of a sudden heart attack, Francisco Tuttle is alive today because of a donation made by the Public Safety Foundation through pickle bucket sales.
In 2005, Firehouse Subs created the non-profit Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation with the mission to provide funding, life-saving equipment and educational opportunities to aid first-responders. Through the non-profit 501 (c) (3), Firehouse Subs has given more than $2 million to hometown heroes, including fire and police departments and EMT organizations.
