Genghis Grill - The Mongolian Stir Fry is opening a new location in Midland, Texas, the first of several units planned for the West Texas region.

The Midland store is slated to open Aug. 15. Genghis Grill will be expanding into Lubbock in October and also is currently looking at real estate in Odessa.

Twelve more new restaurants are expected to open around the country in 2010 throughout the southwest, south central, Midwest, and southeast.

The chain now has 48 units in 14 states with additional locations set to open in the new markets of Alabama, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Nebraska, North Carolina and Virginia.

The first Genghis Grill opened in 1998 in Dallas.
