Pizza Fusion has shown tremendous growth since its inception in 2006. While most restaurants have seen a downturn in same store sales, Pizza Fusion has excelled, according to company statements.
For the 12 months ending June 30, 2010, system-wide sales increased to nearly $11 million, an increase of 46 percent over the prior 12-month period. Same store sales increased approximately 11 percent, which the company alleged is a better performance than the fast casual industry’s corresponding one.
"We went to great lengths to develop a business model where social responsibility is just as important as profitability,” said Vaughan Lazar, co-founder of Pizza Fusion. “Our franchisees benefit from our innovation in that they are not only realizing significant cost-savings, but they are also contributing to the betterment of their communities.”
Lazar said practically every store in the system has posted gains, but the California market is especially strong.
