"Better burger" chain Smashburger will open its first Shreveport, La., location on July 14, with a localized menu that features Cajun flavors. The restaurant is the first of two Shreveport-Bossier area Smashburgers slated to open over the next year.
Shreveport’s Smashburger will feature a regional menu created with regional flavors and tastes in mind, including:
- Louisiana Smashburger featuring American cheese, applewood smoked bacon, Cajun grilled onions, remoulade sauce, lettuce and tomato on an egg bun
- Louisiana Smashchicken featuring Crispy or tender, grilled chicken breast with American cheese, applewood smoked bacon, Cajun grilled onions, remoulade sauce, lettuce and tomato on an egg bun
- Louisiana Smashdog featuring Cajun grilled onions, cheddar cheese and remoulade sauce on a 100-percent Angus beef hot dog
- Häagen-Daz specialties including bread pudding milkshakes and malts, and crushed grape, orange and strawberry floats

Known for the cooking method used to create the perfect burger, Smashburgers start at $3.99 with a one-fourth, one-third or half-pound ball of 100 percent Certified Angus Beef smashed on a flat grill to sear in superior juicy flavor. To further the “better burger” experience, Smashburgers are served on a toasted artisan bun and topped with a selection of flavorful cheeses, the freshest produce and top-quality condiments.
